The
reason we decided to offer a manual search engine submission
service rather than an automated one was because automated
submissions are now being rejected by many Search Engines,
and this is likely to increase in the near future. Search
Engines are becoming more wary about the quality of the
sites that are submitted and as such do not want multiple
submissions of second rate sites which very often happens
with automated submission tools.
The
reasoning behind our manual submission engine list is as
follows:
Ask
Jeeves.co.uk - This engine can only be submitted to manually
via an email system.
Altavista
- Now requires a login code to be submitted from a random
image before submission can take place.
Direct
Hit - Asks for keywords on submission.
Excite
UK - Often overlooked by autosubmitters.
Fast
- This engine supplies too many results to risk your site
being accused of spamming
Google
- Requires one inbound link from a site already listed before
it will accept your listing
HotBot
- As for Fast
Lycos
- Many autosubmitters ignore Lycos as results are currently
provided by Fast (Lycos maintains its own index and may
return to that index if Fast fails to provide good quality
service).
Lycos
UK - Directory based submission where category needs to
be selected before submitting.
Mirago
- Does not accept automatic submissions.
Northern
Light - As for Fast
Open
Directory Project - The site needs to work in multiple browsers,
otherwise submission may be rejected.
The
Matren - Good referrals from this up and coming directory,
allows custom description so that you can really get your
marketing information to your customers.
UK
Index - Often ignored by autosubmitters going for a world
market.
Wisenut
- New search engine which looks to be a major player in
the near future.
As
you can see there are many reasons why manual submissions
should be favoured over automatic submission. So to submit
your site to search engines please use our service as we
will give the submission the human touch that your website
deserves.
